This perfect pan-seared pork chop smothered in rich, garlicky Dijon cream sauce is going to be your next favorite dinner recipe. It’s high in protein, gluten-free and with less than 5 grams of net carbs, ideal for a low-carb or keto diet.
I love hearty and comforting meals. However, when I have a dinner party, I want something comforting and elegant at the same time.
These pan seared pork chops are just that! Something that I know is going to impress my dinner guests and make them want more.
These creamy Dijon pork chops mix perfectly golden juicy pork chops, crispy bacon bits, and Creamy Dijon sauce. And, it comes together in one skillet.
So, not only are you making a delicious meal that is going to make everyone happy, but it’s also easy to make and saves you time in the kitchen (less time cleaning after, yay!) Or it might become your husband’s favorite dinner!
One of my favorite things about cooking is that you can make the recipe as it is or try experimenting to make it your own.
For example, if you want to change the flavor of the meal without affecting the net carbs (keeping it low-carb), you can add some veggies. You can add spinach, zucchini noodles, mushrooms, or asparagus.

Pin ItFor those who are not a fan of pork but want to experience the wonderful flavors this meal has to offer, you can use boneless chicken thighs or turkey filets.
And, if you follow a plant-based diet, you ditch the pork and bacon and use tofu or seitan. You can also add some nutritional yeast to boost that cheesy flavor.
Ingredients and Substitutes
Butter (1 tbsp) – For a creamier recipe, try using ghee. It also gives it a cheesier flavor.
Olive oil (1 tbsp) – You can also use avocado oil or coconut oil.
Boneless pork chops, 1/2-inch thick (4) – I’ve also tried using chicken thighs, turkey filets, or a plant-based protein.
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Bacon, diced (4 slices) – You can also use turkey bacon or vegan bacon bits.
DIJON CREAM SAUCE
Butter (1 tbsp)
Garlic, minced (4 cloves) – If you don’t have fresh garlic, you can use garlic flakes or powder.
Dried oregano (1 tsp) – If you don’t have dried oregano, rosemary, or basil, you can replace all of these spices with Italian seasoning.
Dried rosemary (1/2 tsp)
Dried basil (1/2 tsp)
Chicken broth, low sodium (1/2 cup) – For a plant-based option, you can switch to vegetable broth.
Heavy cream (1 cup) – If you want a dairy-free option, replace it with coconut cream (it also adds a different flavor to the recipe).
Dijon mustard (2 tbsp) – I wouldn’t change this type of mustard since it’s the start of the dish (I’ve tried others, and they don’t work the same).
Salt (1/2 tsp)
Black pepper (1/4 tsp)
Parmesan cheese, grated (1/4 cup) – I’ve also tried using nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor when I don’t have (or want) Parmesan cheese.
Baby spinach (2 cups) – Kale or Swiss chard will also do.
GARNISH
Parsley, chopped
How to Make Creamy Dijon Pork Chops
Step 1. Grab the pork chops and season them with black pepper and salt to taste.
Step 2. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and olive oil. Let it heat for a couple of minutes. Place the pork chops into the skillet.
Step 3. Cook the pork chops for 5-6 minutes on each side until they turn golden brown. Keep in mind that if your pork chops are slightly thicker, you may need to leave them for a couple more minutes.
Step 4. Remove the pork chops from the skillet. Cover them and set them aside. Cut the bacon into cubes.
Step 5. Place the bacon in the same skillet.
Step 6. Cook the bacon until it becomes crispy. It should roughly take 6-8 minutes.
Step 7. Remove the bacon from the skillet, but keep the fat. Add the rest of the butter, garlic, dried oregano, and basil. Mix everything and cook for about 30 seconds.
Step 8. Pour the chicken broth and make sure you mix everything to scrape off any burnt bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Step 9. Now, it’s time to give it some creaminess. Add the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper.
Step 10. Give everything a good mix, lower the heat, and let it simmer until the sauce thickens. It should take roughly 3-5 minutes.
Once it thickens, add the parmesan and baby spinach. Cook for another minute.
Step 11. Grab the pork chops and return them to the skillet. Grab some of the sauce and cover the pork chops.
Step 12. Let the pork chops cook for 2-3 minutes until they heat up.
Step 13. When you are ready to serve them, garnish with cooked bacon and chopped parsley.

Pin ItWhat to Serve with This Creamy Dijon Pork Chops
Here are some of the side options that I would definitely consider when making these.
- Mashed potatoes: Creamy mashed potatoes absorb the Dijon sauce and make every bite an indulgent treat. If you want a low-carb option, you can choose mashed cauliflower.
- Roasted vegetables: Try having this delicious meal with some oven-baked carrots, Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, or squash. Drizzle some olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.
- Cauliflower rice: This is a great low-carb option that absorbs all the delicious juices from the recipe.
- Green salad: Add some fresh crunch with mixed greens and a light vinaigrette. It can balance out the richness of the pork chops.
- Spinach Tomato Salad with Feta Cheese
How to Store Dijon Pork Chops
Place the pork chops in an airtight container with the sauce to keep them moist and juicy. You can keep it in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or freezer for up to 3 months.
When you are ready to have them, you can heat them on the stove at low heat. Add a splash of chicken broth or cream to prevent the sauce from becoming too dry.
While you could also reheat it in the microwave, I’ve found that it dries the pork chops too much.
