Ingredients and Substitutes

Green beans (1lb) – This recipe uses fresh green beans; even frozen ones will turn out super crispy and delicious.

Olive oil (1 tbsp)

Garlic powder (1 tsp) – Using garlic powder instead of minced garlic here is best.

Onion powder (1tsp) – Onion powder is a true flavor enhancer, so make sure not to omit it here.

Salt & black pepper

Parmesan (2 tbsp) – This recipe calls for grated parmesan cheese. However, don’t buy pre-grated cheese, as it seriously lacks in flavor and quality. Buy a whole piece of parmesan and grate it yourself.

How to Make Air Fryer Green Beans

Step 1. Wash the green beans, dry them thoroughly, and place them into a bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients, including the parmesan cheese there.

Mix well (you can use your hands!) until everything is well-combined and the beans are fully coated with the seasonings and parmesan mixture.

Step 2. Transfer the prepared beans to the basket of your Air Fryer.

Step 3. Air fry the green beans at 375 F for about 10 minutes. Remember, for them to turn out crispy, you’d need to shake the basket.

Do this midway, after about 5 minutes, to ensure even cooking.

What Can You Serve Green Beans With?

Green beans go well with many dishes. From fish and chicken to sausages and even meatloaf. Honestly, the pairing possibilities are endless.

However, I prefer them with grilled salmon and chicken breasts.

If serving them at a fancy dinner party, then I’d add some lemon wedges for garnish and sprinkle with chili flakes for a nice spicy kick and pop of red color.
