Chocolatey, soft, and sweet – these Whole30 Cookies are super delicious. A healthier version of your regular chocolate cookies and enjoy. They’re gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, Paleo and Whole30.
Are you following a Whole30 diet? Then you know the drill. Certain foods are off-limits. These foods include sugar and grains.
So what can you do if you’re craving a chocolate cookie? Have one of these Whole30 Cookies with Bananas and Chocolate!
They’re absolutely delicious. The combination of chocolate and almond butter is irresistible. Plus, they’re pretty sweet. Yet these cookies contain no added sugar.
And let’s talk about the texture of these cookies. They’re pretty chewy and soft. So they’re kind of like fudge – but healthier for you too.
One cookie contains just 140 calories. It’s also a good source of fiber. In fact, you’re getting about 12% of your daily fiber requirements – from one cookie.
Ingredients You’ll Need
Ripe bananas (2) – I can‘t emphasize this enough. You want your bananas to be ripe. The riper your bananas, the sweeter your cookies will be.
So you want your bananas to have tons of dark spots on the peel. You will also want your bananas to be quite soft, aka squishy. That way, you can mash your bananas easily.
Almond butter (1/2 cup) – The almond butter makes these cookies moist and creamy. The butter also provides heart-healthy monounsaturated fats.
Almond butter also contains plant-based protein and fiber. If you want to change out the almond butter, you can use sunflower seed butter instead.
Almond flour (1/2 cup) – Just like regular flour, almond flour binds your cookies together. But unlike regular flour, almond flour is low in carbs. If you don‘t have almond flour handy, you can get some here.
Cocoa powder (1/4 cup) – It provides a rich chocolatey flavor. It also provides tons of antioxidants.
Cinnamon (1/4 tsp) – It adds warmth to these cookies. Cinnamon also adds a lovely aroma.
Chia seeds (1 tbsp) – The chia seeds add crunchiness, balancing out the softness of the cookies. Chia seeds are also rich in fiber and protein.
Raisins (1/2 cup) – Raisins amp the sweetness factor. They also provide fiber and antioxidants. You can also use another dried fruit.
How to Make Whole30 Cookies
Step 1. Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place your ripe bananas in a bowl, then mash them with a fork. You want your banana mixture to be as smooth as possible. Add your almond butter, mixing as well as possible.
Step 2. To a separate bowl, add almond flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and chia seeds. Mix thoroughly.
Step 3. Add your dry ingredients to your wet ingredients. Mix well before folding in the raisins.
Step 4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 5. Using a 2 tablespoon-cookie scoop, scoop the batter onto the prepared baking sheet.
Step 6. Use a spoon to flatten the dough to create a cookie shape.
Step 7. Bake in the oven for 18 to 20 minutes. Let the cookies cool on a cooling rack, then serve.
Can You Freeze Whole30 Cookies?
You can definitely freeze Whole30 Cookies. Just place the cookies in Ziplock bags or airtight containers.
When you want to eat the cookies, let them thaw at room temperature for 3 hours.
How to Store Cookies?
Once your cookies have cooled down, store them in an airtight container on the counter.
Glass food storage containers will do a great job locking in freshness. They should last about 3 to 5 hours at room temperature.
If you want your cookies to last longer, place them in the fridge. Your cookies should last about 10 days in the refrigerator.

Whole30 Cookies with Bananas and Chocolate

Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas mashed
- 1/2 cup almond butter
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/2 cup raisins
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 350F.
- Combine bananas with almond butter in a bowl.
- In a separate, small bowl, mix together the almond flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and chia seeds.
- Add in the dry ingredient mix into the banana mix until combined.
- Fold in raisins.
- Use a 2 tbsp cookie scoop to scoop out the batter onto the baking sheet.
- Flatten the dough with a tablespoon to create a cookie shape. Bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes.
- Serve after cooling down.

Does the recipe require chia seeds to work or can those be skipped?
Since there is 1 tbsp of chia seeds, you won’t see much of a change. I mostly added them for extra nutrition and fiber.
My dough actually was more like cake batter. However, I spooned it onto the parchment paper and baked as directed, and they turned out perfect! The hubby and I love them.
Would it work if I substitute chopped dates for the raisins?
